Everything Bagel Baked Salmon

Ingredients:

4 salmon fillets, skin on (about 150–180g each)

¼ cup everything bagel seasoning

2 Tbsp olive oil (or avocado oil)

Sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 200°C fan bake.

Spread the everything bagel seasoning out on a plate.

Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels, then lightly brush the flesh side with oil.

Press the flesh side (not the skin) of each salmon fillet into the bagel seasoning to create a crust.

Heat the remaining oil in an oven-safe frying pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the pan. Cook for 2–3 minutes until the skin is crisp.

Transfer the pan straight to the oven and bake for 6–8 minutes, depending on the thickness of the salmon, until just cooked through.

Optional: for an extra-crispy crust, return the pan to the stovetop, flip the salmon carefully, and sear the crusted side for about 1 minute.

Serve hot with a fresh salad, steamed greens, or even a dollop of tzatziki on the side.

Air Fryer Tip:

Skip the oven if you prefer and place the seasoned salmon fillets (skin side down) straight into the air fryer basket. Lightly spray with oil and cook at 200°C for 7–9 minutes, depending on thickness, until flaky and cooked through. No need to pre-sear the skin — it crisps up nicely in the air fryer.
