Cajun Beef Wraps

There are some nights when I don’t feel like fussing around in the kitchen, but I still want something that tastes a little special. That’s how these Cajun Beef Wraps came about. Quick to throw together, full of flavour, and made with everyday ingredients I already had on hand. The spicy beef, creamy avocado, and fresh rocket make these wraps feel like more than just a weeknight dinner – they’re a proper treat without any extra effort.

Ingredients:
450 g beef rump or sirloin, thinly sliced
3 tsp Avohaven Cajun Seasoning
2 Tbsp olive oil
6 mini plain wraps or tortillas
1 small red onion, thinly sliced into wedges
8 cherry tomatoes, quartered
1 small avocado, diced
2–3 Tbsp pomegranate seeds (optional)
A handful of fresh rocket leaves
3 Tbsp natural unsweetened yoghurt
For the Cajun Mayonnaise:
4 heaped Tbsp light mayonnaise
2 tsp Avohaven Cajun Seasoning
A squeeze of fresh lime juice
Instructions:
In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Cajun seasoning, and lime juice to make the Cajun Mayonnaise. Mix until smooth, cover, and place in the fridge until ready to use.
Add the sliced beef, Cajun seasoning, and olive oil to a mixing bowl. Toss well so the beef is evenly coated.
Heat a large non-stick frying pan over high heat. Stir-fry the beef for 5–6 minutes, or until browned and cooked through. Remove from the heat and set aside.
Heat the wraps in a dry pan, sandwich press, or microwave for a few seconds until soft and pliable.
Spread a generous layer of Cajun mayonnaise over each wrap. Top with beef, red onion, tomato, avocado, pomegranate seeds (if using), rocket, and a drizzle of yoghurt.
Roll up or fold over the wraps, slice in half if you like, and serve immediately.
Serving Suggestions & Variations:
Try chicken breast or thighs instead of beef for a lighter option.
Replace the beef with grilled halloumi or roasted chickpeas for a vegetarian option.
Add a cheesy twist, a sprinkle of grated cheddar or crumbled feta works well.
Add cucumber ribbons or grated carrot for an extra fresh crunch.
Feeding the family, lay out all the fillings on the table and let everyone build their own wraps.
